I’ve resolved to get a bit more active this year……but I need to make it as fun as possible otherwise I get bored. I’ve mentioned on here and on Twitter how much I’d like to get an XBox 360 with Kinect especially so that I can get fit doing Your Shape. Unfortunately it’s not going to happen at the moment so in the meantime here is what I am going to do.

I was quite excited when I heard about  the Step Up-The Official Dance workout DVD coming out, I haven’t had a chance to try it out yet but the little snippets that I’ve seen of it I think it is going to be a fun and fantastic way to get fit and also involve the younger children, especially the girls who are mad on Street dancing. It looks very catchy although a little complicated. I’ll let you know how I get on.

I’m hoping to start running again, just as soon as I feel well enough, and as soon as I saw that The Ministry of Sound have brought out Running Trax 2 CD , 60 dance anthems especially chosen to run to, I had to get it. I can’t wait to get outside and try it. Apparently listening to the right kind of music whilst you run can boost performance by up to 15%! I certainly know that listening to good music at the correct tempo motivated me when I was running last year.

Lastly and this has had a lot of use since Christmas, I was lucky enough to be given a copy of Let’s Dance 2 for the Wii ages ago but kept it for Christmas. The whole family, and I mean everyone has had a go of this one and it really does give you a sweaty workout! Just try the Boney M song Rasputin!

Any suggestions for other things that may motivate me this year?

  1. Mr L got the Kinect for his birthday and I would love the Your Shape for it, it looks really good. Hopefully we shall get it sooner rather than later! xx

  2. You are an inspiration! Except – I’m not an active sort so
exercise and running are out. I have two left feet so dancing is
out. Hmmmm, I guess I will just continue to exercise my fingers via
    blogging and commenting. 😉

    1. Oh I don’t know about that, I just have to get myself up and about. Lumps and bumps appearing everywhere, I’ve noticed how much worse it is now I spend so much time on the computer. I sit badly I think. x

  3. I was only having a discussion today about how I will never
ever run. Ever. I will dance till the end of time though. Will have
to find such a game for the Wii.

    1. I hate(d) running with a passion & then after a few
glasses of wine one night on twitter got persuaded to do 5 k in
Hyde Park. It was hard but I trained & found that actually it
was/is ok. Would never ever have believed it a year ago.

  7. I really admire you. Really, I do. I so wish I was fit and could run, work out and keep myself in shape, but I’m just not motivated enough. I often cut down on biscuits, cake, chocolate etc, but when it comes to exercising, it’s just not in my nature! Good luck, hope you have a great time on your Wii. We have one, too, but I just do the gentle activities like playing ten pin bowling and golf!! (Very lazy!)

    1. I have to admit I find it very hard to get motivated…..would much rather not although when I was running last year I did feel so good afterwards. There are some slower dances on the Wii game…go on…give it a try! 😉 x
