Try and guess one of my most favourite weeks of the year…that’s right : Chocolate Week! Which happens to be 13-19th October, the UK’s biggest celebration of chocolate…what better excuse to indulge? I am far from being a chocolate snob, I can
eat 100% chocolate to 85% down to good old white chocolate. Chocolate with bits in, nuts are my favourite but chocolate with biscuit, caramel, raisins, nougat, I could go on…
Then there is hot chocolate, yum. My children are huge fans, I like it too but it can’t be too sweet, I prefer my chocolate in solid form. 🙂
Whittard sell a Rocky Road Hot Chocolate which has however been a big hit with the youngest two, it is very sweet, perfect then for little ones.
Marshmallows on top are the ideal finish, cream and marshmallows make the ultimate hot chocolate but that is for very special occasions, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays…
The Ecuadorian hot chocolate 55% cocoa is the perfect blend for someone like me who doesn’t want their hot chocolate too sweet.
How to make the Perfect Hot Chocolate
Heat 200ml of milk and pour onto 3 heaped teaspoons of hot chocolate in a mug
Stir well and voila! Enjoy
Optional, add whipped cream, a sprinkling of hot chocolate and marshmallows for the ultimate decadent hot chocolate treat.

There are some lovely chocolatey gifts on the Whittard’s website including luxury hot chocolate in kilner tins, flavours include Ecuadorian Hot chocolate, White Chocolate, Chilli flavour, Créme Brulée and many more. There is sure to be a hot chocolate for everyone’s taste.
As well as speciality teas and coffee Whittard’s also sell confectionery, the chocolate covered marshmallows are heavenly.
Whittard’s offer a range of gifts and also offer a gift box and hamper service which you can handpick. The gift box is a lovely blue branded box but wicker hampers are also available.
Prices are from £4.50 for the marshmallows, I think there is a lot of choice to make a lovely gift or a for a little indulgence why not treat yourself, after all it’s chocolate week in just five days. But hey, who needs an excuse anyway?
Disclosure: We were sent a gift box full of chocolate goodies from Whittard but all opinions are my own.
Oh I fancy this one! I have had Whittard chocolate before. It is really good quality.
Hope all is well with you x
It’s great isn’t it. 🙂 X
