We have been reviewing the Humf app available for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.  Humf is big in this house, he is a purple fluffy ‘thing’ on Nick Jr that Little M loves and watches all the time so he was very excited to try this app out. At three years old Little M is also very adept at playing with games on my iPhone as you may recall from this previous post ‘Give me my phone back‘. This Humf app is recommended for pre schoolers and designed so that they can play independently which is a big bonus as far as I am concerned.

There are nine games within the app. These include painting, dressing up, racing, playing instruments, dot to dot, tidying up,matching up, bubbles and popping balloons. Little M has been able to play all of them without any help from me, although I have guided him to get more from the games. Since getting the app Little M hasn’t played with anything else on my phone which has to be the biggest endorsement.There is colour sorting, numbers, matching up all within the games so it has educational benefits too and I am impressed at how quickly the games load. This is a very important feature when aiming games at children with short attention spans.

Costing £1.79 from the App store it’s slightly more than a lot of games aimed at this age group but there are a lot of activities within it so it works out fairly good value for money.
