Dear Mr Apple

Please can you tell me when are you going to bring out an iPhone equivalent for toddlers at a toddler price ? My son is three and has stolen my phone. I can’t use it, he wants it all the time. He ignores my texts and calls, switching them off because he is busy playing Angry Birds or Bejeweled, or even Peppa Pig. When I do get to look at my phone I find that he has put all my apps…even the phone button into folders! My screens are looking decidedly empty too…..I’m wracking my brain wondering what on earth is missing. He even managed to call his big sister a few days ago while she was at school…..and then when I synced the phone I found nearly one hundred photos that he’s taken including the one above.

Please, please, please…….could you invent something that looks exactly the same but without a phone or email that I can afford to buy him…..it is brilliant for toddlers but I really really want to play on my phone myself!

Yours gratefully

Weary mum of five.

  1. I have one word for you: Leapster. If a Leapster doesn’t work then I’m afraid you’re doomed 🙂

  2. Hehehehehe! J used to do the same with my old phone, take pictures of me driving, I used to give it to him to entertain him and somehow he cottoned on to how to unlock it and turn on the camera! Kids hey!

  3. Fantastic, I’m the exact same. My boys fight over it. It’s great when you don’t have anything else to entertain them like yesterday when we were in A&E but when you want to use it not so much. Or the battery has ran out. I too wish they would invent one for kids. Great picture btw. x

  4. I was thinking of getting a smartphone of some type but this post has convinced me not to, My 18 month old is already bad enough with my ordinary phone. Thanks you have saved me loads of money

    1. Haha…..I know….it’s just so tempting though isn’t it to give them it. I also think they are much more toddler friendly than a DS. 🙂

  7. Ha! I’m sorry to say, it won’t fool him. With ours (back in the olden days) it was the remote control. So we gave him his own (without batteries). He wouldn’t have anything to do with it – he knew it wasn’t the real deal. On the plus side – he did take a very nice picture – he must have inherited your photographer skills! x

  8. haha! That’s a really good photo though 😀
I’d suggest that you ask at the phone shops for one of the dummy phones but that’s not really going to hold his attention for very long, is it?

    1. unfortunately I don’t think he’s going to be fooled. 😉
