Later today I’ll be singing this:

Urghhhh….we’re nearly there, only a few more hours and then schools out!

I can’t wait……am I the only mother that longs for lie ins….turning off the alarm clock for many many weeks……bliss, or am I just seriously lazy?

The end of term is always fraught…..tired, exhausted children, endless sports events, assemblies, show and tells, leavers services, parties to celebrate the end of term, parties to celebrate the end of an era.. Arghhh

Bags full of work to find space for -don’t you just love it! Can you imagine how many boxes I have of work after thirteen years of children at school, so far. I could justify a whole room dedicated to it all……

Smelly sports kits to wash….

Every year in anticipation I imagine lazy days at the beach….trips to the zoo…..catching up with friends, having the time to bake a cake everyday, martinis on the lawn, croquet, children skipping along hand in hand…sharing, playing nicely together…*ahem* sorry got carried away there. In reality it’s not usually quite like that but we tend to be a family that enjoys staying at home….being quite lazy really. Not adhering to any timetables……I think that’s what we enjoy the most. Not having to be anywhere at all if we don’t want to be……..fantastic! 😉

  1. Can you give me an approximate date on when your next post might be. Is there an automatic signup for it?

  3. Not adhering to any timetables! That sums it up for me. Whatever else comes (kids arguing, whining they’re bored, leaving mess everywhere, the endless washing now they are in they’re own clothes) knowing we can do what we want, when we want, or do nothing at all…well that’s priceless. Hope it’s a good one for you lovely x

  7. Yes, that’s what I love the most about the holidays too. No rushed mornings scrabbling around trying to find this and that – it’s all just more relaxed.

I took my kids to the cinema today. We’ll go to the park tomorrow if it’s nice….
