If I said I wasn’t going stir crazy I would be lying. I usually love being stuck at home but enough is enough….the children have been off school a week due to the snow and I have to admit that they need to get back now!
Our Christmas holidays have virtually extended to a month now and it is going to be so hard getting back into the routine of six o’clock starts six days a week. That I’m dreading!
The trouble is we can’t move. The car is well and truly stuck…….it’s not going anywhere. The snow has drifted and I can’t even see where the drive starts and finishes and it is too long and there is just too much snow to try and shift.
The girls, who have done two days at their new school could go in tomorrow, if it doesn’t snow overnight. The school is planning to reopen for the first time since last Tuesday.
Big E’s school is closed and he hasn’t done one day there yet. A new school for him too.
Hopefully someone is going to get Big H to the station tomorrow so that he can finish his mock GCSE’s. He managed to do most of them at home.
I made the big mistake of not making the children go out today and play, run around, build snowmen etc…..whoa pay back tonight. I had at least three very hyper children and two pretty miffed boys at the noise the younger ones were making.
Me…..fed up tonight, we need some food. I managed to find a belly of pork in the freezer ( don’t ask how long it’s been there) some lamb chops and a pizza!
I did the usual January thing last week, the children were going back to school last Monday so I stuffed myself silly with all the Christmas goodies I could find. I hate throwing food away but also can’t start any healthy eating regime whilst there are tempting foods in the house. I was very good for the first couple of days, lots of fruit and vegetables then….bam! The snow came, we ran out of ‘healthy’ food and I’ve managed to find all the ‘hidden’ chocolate, biscuits, homemade bread etc….even a dairy milk ice cream!!
That and a lack of exercise and I’m feeling like Big Willy’s little sister!
Next time, Mr/Mrs Weatherperson please give me warning so that I can stock up well. I don’t mind the snow, it is very pretty but I need some space now please. I hope that a big thaw starts tonight but I have heard that some poor people to the West of the UK are expecting more.
Fingers crossed.
