I know, I know, you must all be bored with snowy pictures but….there is nothing else happening here…..we are well and truly snowed in. The car is stuck and we have two feet of snow and deep snow drifts.
It hasn’t stopped snowing all day and living on a hill it’s been windy with blizzards too.
I feel terrible because my parents drove over forty miles today with a car full of food for us and then got stuck about three miles away. They managed to turn around and get home safely.
We won’t starve…yet.
So, although I usually love being holed up at home I am starting to feel a little stir crazy and cut off. Snow is even piling up at the windows just like in photographs. Never ever have I seen snow like this in the UK.
I’m already thinking that come the morning we won’t be able to open the front door- gulp!
Don’t get me wrong I do love snow and I think this country make the best they can in these extreme circumstances and people seem to forget that this is unusual and extraordinary. Living in the country though where the roads aren’t being gritted and not having a car equipped for this means that we are stranded. If forecasts are correct we have a few more days of this and it seems unlikely the children will be back at school on Monday.
We spent hours playing in the snow and made the obligatory snowman, I of course made an ice sculpture and walked around the garden burning off, I hope, some calories allowing me to indulge in something calorific for dinner tonight! ;0)
