PG Tips have 10 new flavours including five green teas flavoured with Mandarin, Jasmine, Lemon and Raspberry, and five fruit and herbal teas of Camomile, Peppermint, Red Berries, Red Bush and Vanilla, and Spices and Mint. Each box contains 20 pyramid bags with an extra long string which won’t get lost in the cup and a tag with a cute monkey on it. They retail at a RRP of £1.19 for the fruit and herbal range and RRP of £1.29 for the green tea range.

First one I tried was the Smooth Red Bush and Vanilla, it has a lovely strong vanilla fragrance and a subtle vanilla taste. It is caffeine free which is fabulous even though I think it has a distinct tea flavour.
Aromatic Spices and Mint is an unusual combination of cinnamon, orange and spices with mint. It works though and makes a great warming tea on a gloomy grey day.
Juicy Red Berries does what it says on the box…the strawberry and raspberry mix delivers a fruity tea.
Delicate Camomile is made from a camomile flower infusion and is caffeine free of course. This isn’t the best camomile tea I have had but it is okay.
Now as much as I really really want to be a fan of Green Tea I have always struggled with it. Green tea is reputed to be full of antioxidants and nutrients that are beneficial for the body. The Vibrant Mandarin Orange green tea, Fragrant Jasmine green tea, Zesty Lemon green tea and Juicy Raspberry green tea flavours smell gorgeous, however there is no hiding the fact that the teas are still Green tea! However they do make them more palatable for me so I can just about drink them and I am pleased to say that the delicate floral Jasmine one is definitely growing on me. For fans of Green tea though these would make a great addition to their tea collection.
My overall favourite has to be Fresh Peppermint though, it is minty, refreshing and would be just as good to drink when cold. I like drinking this after eating.
The pyramid bags are quite small in comparison to some bags but they still deliver on flavour and as already mentioned the string attached is extra long so you won’t lose the bag in the cup. I would recommend the green teas to green tea lovers and there is such a large variety in the fruit and herbal range that there is something for everyone. The packaging is bright and represents the flavour contents.
The various teas from the range are available in ASDA, Morrison’s, Co-op, and Sainsbury’s now.
Disclosure: I was sent the whole range of Herbal and Green Tea PG Tips to review, however all opinions are my own.
Thanks for this
I have just purchased the Jasmine Green Tea in an attempt to find some green tea I can drink more often. I’m on a major health kick at the moment (I have reached a certain age!) xx
I’ve since found out that you really must take the bag out after 1.5-2 minutes otherwise that is what can make it taste bitter. Hope you like it.
They sound lovely!!
I found the Juicy Raspberry Green Tea so bland, it smelt amazing but it disappointed me.
The Red Blush & Vanilla do sound good! I love mint tea too, it is so refreshing especially after eating! Glad to hear the Zesty Lemon makes green tea a bit easier to drink, I so want to like green tea too!
Try the Jasmine flavoured green tea, that is growing on me. X
