I cannot tell you how chaotic my life is and the other day as I walked through the front door I had just 40 minutes to cook dinner, feed two of the children and get them to a show they were in. Thanks to Knorr Flavour Pots I managed it…and the children were impressed! All thanks to inspiration at a round table dinner last week with Knorr I managed to defrost four chicken breasts, chop two red peppers and one onion, then stir fry them all with a Mixed Chillies flavour pot thrown in along with a tablespoon of Tamari (Gluten free soy sauce) a spoon of honey and a spoon of tomato ketchup! Voila, a chilli chicken that took ten minutes from start to finish. And we made it to the show in time. There was enough to serve about five people with some rice on the side. Annoyingly I was in such a rush I forgot to take a photo of it but the one above was made by Knorr chef, Cameron Healy which is quite similar.

At the round table event I attended we were treated to a five course meal which was of course based around the Knorr flavour pots which have been created to be the ‘perfect blend of herbs and spices’ with none of the hard work or worry about how much of everything to use. To start we were treated to Garlic Prawns which were made using a Garlic flavour pot, I have also made this at home, it is so easy and so tasty. Literally heat some oil, toss in raw prawns along with a Knorr garlic flavour pot, add lemon juice to taste and serve. I added some chilli flakes too to give it an extra kick. So simple and so quick!

I have also used the curry flavour pot to make a curried parsnip soup, something else we were treated to at the event. Again so easy, I didn’t have to think about any seasoning at all, I just added the flavour pot.

The most exciting use of one of the flavour pots for the night was to discover that the little shortbread biscuits that accompanied the strawberries and cream was made with a Peppercorn flavour pot. They were delicious and are on my list to make as soon as I have an excuse.
I am very impressed with the scope the Knorr flavour pots have, they are fantastic for last minute ideas and meals and for people who are a little afraid of adding anything to their cooking…you can’t really go wrong with them. Yes they contain other ‘things’ in them such as a little sugar but are free from artificial flavours, colours and preservatives. They are also suitable for vegetarians and are gluten free. They have a RRP of £1.59 per pack of four pots.
I will most definitely be using these again, I think I will be using the Mixed Chillies and Garlic Flavour Pots the most. I would recommend them for people who need to add a little zing to their food or have busy lives. They make a great store cupboard must have.
Thanks to the team for putting on such a great evening. I received a goody bag containing the five flavour pots which have been put to good use already.
