Bananas

In this day and age we are all looking to save extra pennies wherever we can but we all seem to have less time too. I certainly don’t have time to traipse around supermarkets finding the cheapest deal for every item I buy and I also don’t live in area conducive to this which is why I tend to get the bulk of my groceries delivered. If I had to rely on the local shop unfortunately we wouldn’t be able to afford to eat.

Fortunately for us Tesco are offering a Price Promise on groceries that you buy in their stores, and lucky for me this also includes online shopping. What does this mean? In their words:

When you shop at Tesco, we’ll check your basket against the prices at Asda, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons. If your comparable grocery shopping would have been cheaper there, we’ll give you a voucher for the difference (up to £10).

If you shop in-store, we’ll give you the voucher at the checkout, or if you shop online, we’ll send you an e-mail after your delivery has arrived.

To qualify, you’ll need at least 10 different items, including one comparable grocery item in your basket.

I was asked to try this out so I did an online shop and these are the results which I could access a couple of days after my shopping was delivered.

A breakdown of my shopping was also available:

As you can see if I had shopped at Asda my shopping would have been £3.08 less so Tesco have sent me a code worth a discount of £3.08 on my next shop with them to make up the difference. I can’t really see how you can go wrong with this, if you shop with Tesco you know that if you could buy it cheaper in Asda, Morrison’s or Sainsbury’s you can trust Tesco to honour that with a voucher for the next time you shop.

The experience was very easy and positive, I didn’t have to do anything different because the voucher was emailed to me automatically with the results. I would use Tesco for my shopping again.

Disclosure : I have been given the cost of my shopping to review Tesco Price Promise
