Penny is a a Post lady that always seems to end up in mischief where ever she goes. Written and illustrated by Keith Robinson Penny and the Dragon is the second book of Penny’s adventures. Penny works on the Island of Guernsey and delivers post to all manner of interesting places. Last time we saw Penny end up on a desert island with pirates but in this book when Penny falls down the magic postbox she suddenly finds herself in an enchanted forest. Here she encounters a Sir Titch, a Knight in armour, fairies, elves, trolls and a fierce dragon who needs a little help.

Little M, aged four, enjoyed the book but I found the book a little hard to read aloud. It didn’t seem to flow very well, hopefully anyone that reads bedtime stories regularly to their children will understand what I mean. I have to say the illustrations are lovely though and it is probably one of those books best read by a child. I would recommend this for pre-schoolers and also new readers up to the age of about six years old.

The book also comes with the most beautiful stamps, they are so lovely that I am wondering how we could possibly use them. The stamps themselves are worth £2.97 and the book costs £4.95. The book can be purchased from Guernsey post.
