Are you like me already counting down the days until the new school year starts? I genuinely find the summer holidays too short, I know I am probably in the minority but I love the lack of plans, the relaxed days, late nights, late mornings and having the time to catch up with friends that we never have the time to see in term time. Also, what comes as the end draws near? That’s right, the dreaded last minute trip to shop for all those back to school items that should have been bought at the end of July. Never fear, the ParentDish Back to School Campaign is coming to the rescue. Don’t miss today’s Twitter party- we’ll be talking about back to school between 4pm and 5pm today. Tweet your thoughts and ‘New Term Resolutions’ with #pdBackToSchool to@parentdish_uk. There are fantastic prizes to be won so be sure to set yourself a reminder.
I was trying to work out how many school shoes, coloured pencils and fountain pens I have had to buy over the last fourteen years I have had a child in school, needless to say it is a lot and I dread to think how many hours I have queued in shoe shops or traipsed around looking for that ‘latest’ pencil case. That is our job today…what joy!
Parentdish will be giving away a £100 John Lewis voucher to the best tweet submitted during the Twitter party. I know how handy that voucher would be, kitting out five children is an expensive job.
There is also a competition to win a WHSmith goodie bag worth £100. I have been a fan of WHSmith since forever and can still spend hours looking at the stationary and books.Plus don’t miss an Exclusive Parentdish offer- £5 off voucher for every £15 you spend in WHSmith.
My New Term Resolution is to answer all those letters that come home straight away rather than let them pile up or get buried under another stack of letters…hmmm we’ll see. In the meantime I will be looking out for back to school tips at the Twitter party today.

My lot started back yesterday. Despite vowing to be organised I was still racing around on Wednesday afternoon getting the last few things. I detest back to school shopping!
