At the moment my financial situation isn’t synonymous with being able to take the children on holiday, I have considered many times taking out a loan to whisk us off to somewhere exotic for some rest and relaxation and a much needed change of scenery. Sadly in the

‘real’ world  any loans would be better spent consolidating all my debt or fixing the guttering or something equally exciting, getting the house painted. That’s all boring though, so for today I’m going to pretend I have a hefty sum of money in my bank and I’m going to be very frivolous.

I would book the children and I into a luxury hotel somewhere warm on a beach. It doesn’t have to be too far as long as it’s warm and the sand is soft between our toes. We would spend the days swimming in the warm clear blue sea and building sandcastles whilst sipping on cocktails for me and ice cold drinks for the children. At lunchtime we would find a beach restaurant to sample the local delicacies and have a long leisurely lunch. In the afternoons we would swim in the hotel pool and read or build more sand creations.

Evenings would be spent exploring the town and finding local restaurants to eat in. We would meet and make lots of new friends who would beg us to stay in their much loved country and although tempted we would go back home but leaving promises to return again as soon as we could. Once home we would feel refreshed and revitalised ready to face the world once again with sand still between our toes and salt in our hair…ahhh I can almost smell that sea.

Oh well, no loans at the moment, it’s back to the ironing for me I suppose and maybe, just maybe, one day…
