I’ve been buying clothes from French retailer Vertbaudet virtually since they began selling newborn baby clothes, maternity clothes and childrens wear in 1997. I love the traditional smart boys clothes, beautiful baby clothes that you wouldn’t get on the high street and the most gorgeous girls dresses.  In the past my children have had some absolutely stunning outfits from Vertbaudet but I must admit I haven’t bought anything in recent years from them.

The prices were always competitive and the clothes hard wearing so when I was asked to review a couple of Vertbaudet pieces I jumped at the chance. I chose a check shirt £13 and a pair of denim stone washed shorts £12. Both pieces are made from 100% cotton.

I wasn’t disappointed, the shirt is soft and not at all stiff which sometimes puts little boys off of wearing shirts. The stitching is neat and the buttons are all sewn on tightly, I’ve given them a good tug because there is nothing more annoying than children losing buttons on the first wear of something.  The shorts are generously long, a style which I particularly like and they have lots of interesting pockets to keep little boys amused and able to place any treasures they find on their adventures. On a practical level the shorts have an adjustable waistband which is a must have nowdays.

I think you’ll agree that Little M looks smart enough for a special occasion but his clothes also look robust enough for the rough and tumble of a three year old’s every day activities. Overall I am very impressed with the clothes and will be going back to look at the Vertbaudet catalogue or the website where the clothes can be bought from.
