Who can resist a pile of presents and not think of a celebration…….I’m not sure we ever grow out of feeling that flutter of excitement when we see presents.
It’s my big girl’s birthday today, she is a whole 12 years old! As I usually do whenever any of my children have a birthday I feel sad and nostalgic that the years seem to be whizzing by. Where does that time go? I can remember the day Big C was born so clearly, it was very different to the snowy day we have here today that’s for sure. I woke up six days overdue on that Tuesday morning, and she really is a Tuesday’s child; full of grace, knowing that she would be born. After my husband took Big H to school, Big E who was only nineteen months old at the time, such a baby looking back, went off for the day with his grandparents. The midwives were called, they ate lots of chocolate biscuits and my baby girl was born at lunchtime in my bedroom. She weighed at least a whopping 10lb! That was a shock, and she was such a chubby chops. She is tiny now, you would not believe it. By the time Big H came home from school with a beaming smile, I was tucked up in bed with his baby sister. Big E followed not far behind suddenly appearing so much bigger…..awwww, wish I could do that all over again!
You heard it here first, I have always said that Big C would be our next female Prime Minister…..that or a barrister. She is feisty, determined, argumentative, always right according to her, she has no qualms about arguing her point with a teacher, she is very talented and clever. She believes in justice and will never let anyone walk all over her….she is going places! Sometimes we don’t see eye to eye, she can be infuriating at times but she has had a horrible time over the last couple of years and yet she picks herself up and makes the best of everything, she has been a huge support too….I am a very proud mummy ….Happy Birthday Big C!! I love you!
