We waited, the children studied the weather forecast for a week praying that the snow would come, after having several feet of the white stuff dumped on us in January it has seemed strange not having any after hearing all the talk of it elsewhere throughout the country……then, this morning we woke up to about an inch of snow which was certainly not enough for a snow day. I slid my way in the car to drop Big H off at the station at 7am then came back to the other children waiting for the text saying that schools would be closed…….which of course never came. Then the snow fell and didn’t stop, it’s still snowing now. I had a couple of scary moments in the car, living in a rural location is a nightmare without a 4×4….I had never realised how much of a difference they make until I didn’t have one. I’ve decided that I’m not going to take any more chances, it’s not worth it, the children are far too precious and if my car was damaged then we’d be completely stuck. The children got their wishes, they were all sent home at lunchtime. Two of them had a slippery bus journey home and Big H had a long wait for a train home. So, that’s it we’re home now safe and sound, and here by the looks of it for at least tomorrow. yay!!
Here are a few pictures that I took today, I’m sure there will be a lot more this winter….

What beautiful photos! Seriously. And I love the way you framed them – I didn’t realize Smilebox could do that! Glad you are all home and safe! Personally, I’m hoping we don’t get any snow at all this year!
Thank you Gigi, I’ve got an exciting competition coming up with Smilebox in the next few days. We can’t believe we have snow already!
