I was very lucky at the weekend to get the chance to have a very small private tour of ‘Deck the Halls’, the newly opened Notcutts Garden Centres Christmas Store in Bluewater shopping centre, Kent.

The Christmas look  in the house is very important to me, I am not one to allow the children loose decorating the Christmas tree- such a control freak over that! Don’t worry the children get another tree that they are ‘allowed’ to decorate without me breaking out into too big a sweat. 😉

Every year I trawl around looking for new ideas for the tree and also for the table on Christmas day. So to get a chance to hear and see some design tips was right up my street.

Notcutts is a family owned group of  nineteen garden centres and now two Christmas stores. One in Bluewater and another store in Milton Keynes has also opened. The staff are trained on style tips and can help you recreate their themes. As well as trees and decorations they also stock Christmas gifts and food.

I particularly liked the natural trees as in the photo above and was also impressed that Notcutts will deliver all Christmas trees. More traditional decorations also appealed to me as well, like the cute ones below.

Plus I knew I was on trend…..Okay perhaps two years early but maybe it was me that started it….Aubergine is the colour this year for Christmas decorations!

I’m going to share with you all a series of design tips for Christmas and perhaps some videos that I have been given over the next few weeks and next time I will show you the decorations I chose courtesy of Notcutts from their Bluewater store. Thank you ‘Deck the Halls’ for an enjoyable morning.

  4. It’ll be here before we know it! My children always receive an ornament in their stocking from “Santa”. They have aquired quite the collection – each of them. I try to pick one up from wherever we are traveling too. Looking forward to those tips!
