In April my lovely special friend Julie and her husband ran the London marathon…….they travelled thousands of miles to run it for charity. The children and I followed Julie around London catching her at various points…….she looked amazing, completely unfazed and I thought she was fantastic. Something to be so proud of …. I also remember thinking………”Never ever ever would I do that, or anything shorter…”
Have you noticed the new badges on the right side of my blog? See what they say? …….Yes I have, amazingly….reluctantly…..foolishly,maybe, agreed to run in the Adidas Women’s 5K Challenge at Hyde Park, London on Sunday 5th September. Anyone that knows me well, will know that I hate running, so why on earth have I agreed to put myself through this torture? It really wasn’t the couple of glasses of wine conversation between several bloggers on twitter or the lure of a shiny ‘Mummy to 5K’ badge opportunity……honestly!
Anyway…….I have been training, of sorts, thanks to my new #C25K app which talks to me while I am running……without it I would definitely think that 90 seconds was a lot shorter than it actually is! And…actually the training does give me the breathing space to think about everything I have to think about at the moment and it is also something that will hopefully give me something else to focus on….Look out for my training post!
Then…the most important and major motivation which I think of as I grit my teeth whilst running is that I am going to be running to help raise funds for Arthritis Research UK……I can’t possibly let them down. They do a fantastic job of raising awareness and putting money into areas of research where it will give the widest possible advantage. One type of arthritis- juvenile idiopathic arthritis affects one in a thousand children. I will do another post about Arthritis Research Uk but in the meantime if you would like to help get me even more motivated I have a Just Giving page

Thank you in advance for any donation or support.
Please also check out my other motivational coach, Little M’s Mami over at Mummy’s Busy World where she will tell you more about ‘Mummy to 5K’ and the other people taking part.
