Yesterday, with a mixture of nerves and excitement I attended the first British conference for Parent bloggers- CyberMummy 2010.
I can’t even find the words to say how good it was, or maybe that’s the side effect of going to bed at 4am. The goody bags, the free bits on offer and fantastic prizes to be won, cupcakes…….and there were the sessions. I have to say my favourite was the talk given by Charlotte Smith of Glam Media about SEO basics and Twitter tips. It was live blogged about by Young Mummy at Young and Younger, a very tricky session to blog as it was so fast paced, I don’t know how she kept up but she did! Well done Young Mummy.
Then there was the crowd sourced keynotes, posts read by the bloggers who wrote them. Oh my goodness…..they were all amazing, awe inspiring, sad and funny…….I doubt there was a dry eye in the room after a couple of the posts in particular. I’m still welling up now when I think of them. Thank you to everyone who shared with us……you are truly inspiring.
And then there was the social aspect…….I had a mental list of people that I wanted to especially meet. It’s funny how difficult it is to find people who look different ‘in the flesh’ or who don’t have a photo of themselves on their blog. It’s hard to look at name tags discretely. I managed to say hello to most bloggers that I wanted to although there were a few of you I didn’t catch up with unfortunately. There just wasn’t enough time and so many people. What a night……I won’t name anyone but we had a fab fab time in the restaurant, the bar and ….errr when the bar shut, we ended up in the bar downstairs. Thank you to my new friends for the great, fun night which continued well into the morning. I can’t wait to do the whole experience of the day again……

It was so nice to meet you! I am right there with you about the social aspect. I almost think that we could use 2 days JUST to meet everyone, but I am not sure how my liver would like me if I shut the bar down two nights in a row! HAHAHA. That really was one of the best highlights of CyberMummy.
