My lovely friend Karen over at Brighton Mum-Teenage Angst has come up with the great idea of a toilet roll carnival ( or bog roll blog)…..thus I am showing you all my toilet roll…..da da….
We had a bit of a drama regarding toilet roll this week…..we were scrabbling around looking for rolls…..as you can imagine one adult ( who goes to the toilet about 100 times a day) and five children ( oh okay little M is in nappies, make that four) get through a hell of a lot of toilet paper…..and we very nearly ran out. I managed to make it to our tiny local shop three miles away and replenish our stock just in the nick of time. And yay….the Andrex was on very special offer.
Call me a toilet paper snob but I do like it to be soft and strong and very very long….anyway childhood memories of public toilets with paper that you had to screw up first if you were in with any chance of it vaguely doing what it was supposed to do, may have scarred me for life. Unfortunately we’ve had to downgrade our paper of choice ……puppies on a roll and Kleenex quilted were my favourites although neither are good for toilet systems….especially non mains ones.
Quite often I manage to get Charmin in bulk…..I quite like that …..

I’m not normally obsessive about anything but I have to have the paper coming ‘over the top’ ……I have been known on more than one occasion to turn the roll around when visiting other houses…..I’ve no idea why. Apparently Jennifer Aniston has to have the roll doing that too….I always knew we were related!

My Hubby has to have the toilet roll over the top too. Sometimes I’ll turn it round just for fun LOL. I don’t like Velvet I always felt like it was a bit rough.
Haha…..does he wonder why it keeps being the ‘wrong’ way round?

I also have a thing about “over”, but have to have had to have “under” since eldest daughter has been toilet trained – she has a terrible habit of whizzing the roll round, and having it “over” makes a huge mess on the floor!

As I said on your blog…I’d never thought of that before…especially the holder in these pictures…the paper goes whizzing round quickly if spun by a toddler! ;0)
We get through a hell of a lot of toilet paper in our household too. And it’s always the downstairs loo that seems to run out. It’s great having to shout to one of the kids to get you some more. Over the top is a must too!

Oh god, I remember that scrunchy loo paper, horrid stuff. I know what you mean about quantities, ridiculous amounts in this house too. Do you know, I did’nt realise SO many people had a thing about ‘over’ or ‘under’? And yes, it has to be strong. I have 4 fully grown males in the house, and to put it bluntly, they have big hairy arses, flimsy flopsy paper ain’t gonna hack it! LOL…Remember to pop over to mine tomorrow to link up. xx
