Annabel Karmel, a mother of three, has written numerous recipe books, writes for newspapers and magazines and appears on the television and radio talking about healthy ways to feed children. So, I was thrilled to be invited to the launch of Annabel Karmel’s new book Top 100 Pasta Dishes yesterday. I have been using Annabel’s cookery books for more than fifteen years and all of my children were weaned on her puree recipes. I have several long term favourites which have been used time and again.
Not only did I get to meet Annabel and watch her cook meatballs with a tagine sauce, which incidently was delicious, but I also prepared two of her pasta recipes, and then took them home.
We made ‘Annabel’s Pasta salad with marinated chicken and roasted peppers’- This was an extremely tasty combination of pasta, peppers, chicken. spring onions and watercress tossed together with a marinade which included rice wine vinegar and pesto. I will definitely be doing this again, I’m just surprised I managed to contain myself on the train on the way home and not eat the lot ( ssshhh but I took two bowls of it home as I got a bit carried away with the quantities) My daughter loved it and it will be served up lots over the summer.
We then made spinach and ricotta ravioli-
Here is Annabel demonstrating how to do it.
Having had a good look through the pasta recipe book, there are certainly ones I am very keen to try asap. My son, I call him the pasta King has already put in his orders and has been salivating over it. So, highly recommended. I will keep you up to date on how we get on.
Bonus- I got to meet lots of other mummy bloggers including Sian, Nat, Rach, Young Mummy and Karin and some of them had their lovely children with them. I even had a cuddle with one of Young Mummy’s babies…and have been very broody ever since. They are sooo cute.
Cheers for the good read. I must query a couple of things. Can I post here or should I pm you.
