Sometimes children can do things that leave you speechless and in awe. I could have bawled my eyes out yesterday….Big C, aged eleven sang a solo as Jesus in her school’s Easter church service. I had nearly forgotten about it as I rushed to the church with Little M, cutting it fine as usual. She hadn’t even mentioned it recently.

When Big C sang her solo, beautifully, I wanted to weep. This isn’t the first time she has sung a solo, or even performed, she is a quite often on the stage but it felt all the more significant because she has only been at this school since January. I cannot believe how much she puts into everything she does, how she overcomes her  sadness and is so brave. She had to leave her beloved school at Christmas, she is sad, she misses her friends and the school life that she has become accustomed to since she was three. This new school is lovely but it is very different to what Big C is used to but no one could ever accuse her of not making the most of what is on offer and for that I am very proud of her.

Watch out for this feisty little girl because  I have said since she was very young that she would be the next female prime minister.

  4. I would have been blubbing thats for sure!
I have no doubt she will excel in whatever school she attends, and even though she’s sad for the loss of her old school, at least she’s putting herself forward and showing them what she’s got! Go Big C! I remember when she was a little baby, god they grow up so fast! Jx

    1. Thank you, she’s accepting it and knows that it isn’t for long anyway. Changes at the end of this year!
