I was tagged a while ago by Becky at Single Mummy to write about my perfect day ( in my dreams) and then tag four others to tell me their perfect day.
I have been lucky to have a lot of perfect days but……
I make no apologies for being so shallow that my perfect day would involve a five star hotel in a hot exotic location with the majority of my time spent lying in the sun.
The breeze blows the white chiffon gently through the open window. I am woken by birds tweeting and the sound of the sea moving back and forth. I can feel the sun already warming the air. Whispers and giggling can be heard coming from the adjoining bedroom. I look at the silent clock next to my bed….it is 9.23 am, amazing, another night of undisturbed sleep. That was the tenth in a row, I am just so lucky. Suddenly the children come running in and jump onto the bed all fighting for cuddles with me. We have tickles and pillow fights before deciding we are all ravenous and in need of breakfast. The children and I are all dressed and ready in just five minutes. The children look perfect in their colour co-ordinated outfits and all of them have hats on without having to be prompted to put them on.
We step out onto our huge terrace to find the table laden with fresh fruit, juices, smoothies, fresh tea and coffee. There must be ten different types of bread and pastries. Plates are piled high with bacon, sausages, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms. Stacks of pancakes are there for the children with jugs filled to the brim with maple syrup and there are bowls full of whipped cream. A glass of pink champagne is on the table for me to start the day off in style. We tease, we laugh, we all talk….there is no fighting or arguing and everyone is so happy and pleasant to each other.
Bikinis and swim wear magically appear on our bodies as does suncream and even the bag fairies kindly visited in the night and filled the beach bags with suncream, books, sunglasses and beach toys. Not that we have far to go, we just step off of our terrace and our loungers await us. Deep thick mattresses covered with soft oversized fluffy towels to lie on and piles of extra towels to replace wet or sandy ones. The sand is warm on my toes as I walk over to my lounger. The children squeal with delight as they jump into the gentle waves of the warm tropical sea five metres away watched by two beady eyed nannies.
I lie back on the lounger, book in hand, ipod playing my favourite music. I start to perspire so a gorgeous man with rippling muscles fans me with a huge leaf and hands me water and pink champagne whenever I require it.
The children make sandcastles that would win awards, all with the help of the nannies who then take them to the swimming pool when they get hot and in need of more exercise.
I close my eyes for a little snooze…………the children run up to me waking me from my nap all vying for my attention telling me that they love me so much, that life is wonderful and they are having a fantastic holiday, and, “Mummy stay there you really deserve a rest……”
And so it goes on…..my fantasy day
What would your day be like if you could choose to do whatever you wanted?
Cheers for the good read. I must query a couple of things. Should I post here or should I pm you.
You post great posts. Bookmarked !
That sounds pretty good Nova – you may well have the fantasy day thing pretty much sewn up with that post of loveliness.
I will however, get my thinking cap on and endeavour to post my own description of a perfect day.
Thanks for the tag. x

Thank you x
My day would be exactly the same! We must be kindred spirits, or very overworked mums!
Love how you wrote ‘that was the tenth in a row, I am just so lucky.’ I have the same dream!
Us and I bet so many others too…..maybe we should have a national mums on strike day every year. Mother’s Day just doesn’t work does it. ;0)
Oh that sounds like absolute heaven! Count me in!
.-= Gigi´s last blog ..Just a peek at part of me that apparently wasn’t visible before….. =-.
The more the merrier. ;0) x
.-= Nova´s last blog ..My perfect day =-.
My day would involve chocolate and snorkling (not together of course, that would just be too messy)
.-= Frog in the Field´s last blog ..I’ve gone potty again =-.
I left the chocolate out because all that know me would realise that a day without chocolate would not be a day……
snorkelling, I wish I could but I’m such a scaredy cat……and yet I love the sea and it’s sea life. I wish I were braver! ;0)
Oh that’s lovely. Is there room for me? Thanks for the tag, I’ll enjoy doing this one x
