The weather has now turned in the UK and it’s time to get out the hats, gloves and scarves. Although I absolutely detest the long nights, especially living in the middle of nowhere, there is something cosy about wrapping up and sitting in front of a blazing fire. That reminds me I must get my slaves children to collect logs and bring them indoors. I’m not the best ‘fire starter’ in fact it has taken me hours before and then the logs burn so quickly that I wonder if the effort is actually worth it, but it is and when it is time to start wrapping presents *sigh* there is nothing more Christmasy than doing it in front of a roaring fire. In fact that is how I disposed of our Christmas tree last year, what a sight, using a child’s saw to chop the 10 foot tall tree and putting it on the fire. It’s quite breathtaking watching pine burn and the smell is delicious. Although I must admit to being slightly alarmed at the ferociousness of the flames.
Children you must be very careful when playing with lighting a fire.
I think I am getting on top of the present buying. I just need to wait now for a new month to be able to purchase some more.
Little M is loving the novelty of wearing his hat and he spends ages putting on his new gloves or at least trying to put them on anyway.
And it didn’t rain all day today either, we even saw a glimpse of sun.
This evening Big E was transfixed with the moon, when we looked it did indeed have an unusual ring around it. A long way from the actual moon. We spent ages staring at it and even tried to take photos but the camera didn’t cooperate unfortunately. We would be interested to know what caused it.
Yesterday it was ‘watching’ day at ballet for Little I and tap today. When I saw the younger class I suddenly realised how big Little I is now, the time just goes so quickly. She is really growing up and I can already see she’s going to have a strong character- she’s already going on sixteen and says, “No” to everything. Help!!
I think our house is going to be hell interesting when I have two teenage daughters in it, thank goodness for three boys diluting it.
Hmmm- I see a list of pros and cons developing here.
