Little M was so excited to be going to a party……a toy party! He doesn’t get out much…poor boy! 😉  We were invited to a Fisher Price Play party at Earls Court with actress Tamzin Outhwaite, and play is certainly what Little M did. He surprised me by literally throwing himself in to the party. He was running around like a lunatic…..laughing, launching himself into giant rings, interacting with the play specialists……awwww, it made me feel all gushy watching him. What it also showed me is that Little M is most definitely ready for nursery.

While Little M played with all the other children the parents were given a short talk by a play lab expert who had to compete with the shrieks of laughter and noise coming from the children. We were told about the Fisher Price play labs where toys are developed, babies, toddlers and preschoolers  are observed to find out their abilities. They are also watched at home and in  Fisher Price’s newest research facility – the lifestyle lab which stimulates a home environment. Interaction with other children is watched by various people including designers and toys and new concepts are tested  in a series of problem solving sessions. Trends and lifestyles are considered to keep toys up to date. All very interesting, especially for a fan of Fisher Price since I was a child…..I love Weebles! I have also spent hours playing with the Fisher Price farm with my children, it is now sixteen years old, and looks as good as new.
