A clever chocolate shop called Chocolat Chocolat in Cambridge has come up with this fabulous idea of allowing its customers to create their own bar of chocolate. I was very lucky to have a play around and was sent three bars of my own creations.
Choosing can be tricky, where to start…Dark 70%, Dark 55%, Milk, Caramel or White. Then there are over sixty toppings to choose from including dried fruit, nuts, spices, herbs and flowers, confectionery including marshmallows, chocolate buttons, fudge, popping candy and for decoration gold or silver flakes.
I chose a bar of white chocolate for the children…I know, such a kind hearted mum, with added popping candy, coloured mini beans and milk choco crunch balls. Suffice to say it didn’t hang around long and I barely got a nibble!
I also choose a Milk chocolate (34%) with fudge, honeycomb and caramelised hazelnuts for the topping. Ssssshhh but I hid this one. Well…
Yes it was as good as it looks!
And, then being an advocate of very dark chocolate it had to be Dark (70%) and to top it off, raspberry pieces, white chocolate buttons and pistachios. Mmmmm. Oh, I hid this one too…don’t tell them!
With each custom made bar you get to choose three toppings, there are suggestions made too, but half the fun in my opinion is choosing them yourself. As you can see the toppings are very generous, it is not just a little sprinkling of each one.
The bars cost £5.95 for one, £10.95 for two and £14.95 for three, plus delivery. This is not cheap but then this isn’t cheap chocolate and you do get what you pay for. I have tried a lot of chocolate over the years and this is excellent top notch quality. I am a fan of dark chocolate but I especially loved the milk chocolate, it was creamy and smooth and I couldn’t get enough of it. The bars would make a wonderful gift, if you can bear to give it away…and be warned the Chocolat Chocolat website has a lot more to offer too and you may just end up putting a few extras into your basket.

OOh I love this idea – I would have such fun choosing my combination of flavours. I daren’t visit this website! x
I know…be very careful. 🙂
They look yummy!!
I know…they were! The chocolate was so good.
