At the end of last year I made a decision that 2014 was going to be my year…that after many years of rubbish things happening, things were going to be good. A few projects towards ‘Operation 2014’ have happened or started. No one else will know what they are but I do.
So that’s all good then?
However, one of those things is forcing myself out of my comfort zone and so far things are not going to plan…I could so easily slip back.
And one of the first hurdle’s has been met and we are only a few weeks into the new year.
I accept that I can only deal with so much, there comes a saturation point after which I begin to start to ‘crack’..or at least find every little blip a mountain rather than a pebble.
I have to make a decision about something, rather important, it’s not life threatening, thank goodness, but it is a big one. And I have no idea what to do…I know I am a grown up (unfortunately) but still. Luckily I have a friend who is giving me the kick, or gentle push, I need but ultimately it is my decision and I haven’t got the head space at the moment to deal with it. I am acting very childishly and burying my head in the sand in the hope that I do have a fairy godmother out there who will wave her magic wand and sort it all out for me.
Any advice as to how to get myself motivated to actually deal with, rather than try and ignore would be gratefully received…
Could you break it down into smaller pieces? Or if not just jump off that cliff it is as scary as anything, but it’s the waiting around undecided bit which is the worst!!
I’ve decided, I think, now to actually do it. 🙂
Hate those big decisions, especially for you, when you are dealing with so much other stuff. Can you get some help from friends to give yourself some head space to think about it properly? Thinking of you xx
Yes a couple are helping me, thank you. I think I am just tired and studying as well, my life revolves around assignments and having to do something that is going to take up so much extra time that I haven’t got fills me with dread. I will get there though, thanks for commenting. XX
Jen’s right – just bite the bullet and dive in. It probably won’t be as bad as what you are imagining.
I think I’ve made a decision it’s all the ‘stuff’ that needs doing first but I know I can do it, done it before however daunting it seems. Thank you. x
I do the things that scare me first thing in the day. That way they are out of the way, although they are never as bad as I make them to be
Oh that does sound like me…if I have a phone call to make I can’t function until I’ve done it, unfortunately this isn’t a one off thing it is slightly life changing. I think I’ve pretty much made my mind up, in fact I don’t really have any choice I just can’t face what needs to be done first. X
