Anyone that drives their children to school knows how terribly stressful it can be. Yes, I know in an ideal world we would all walk our children to school but unfortunately my children’s  schools are just too far away. Did I tell you before that the four school aged children go to four different schools? Fortunately two of them get school buses to take them in. I am also very lucky that we live in a rural location so the only traffic we usually have to contend with are horses or tractors. All fairly serene and relatively stress free, although have you ever been stuck behind a horse or tractor when you are in a hurry? Arghhhh is all I can say.

However when we lived in London I had an awful school run, and an even worse one when we moved forty miles away but the children stayed at the same schools for a term. My blood pressure must have been soaring then. What with traffic , cries, noise, arguements, story tapes and at some point morning sickness too it is surprising we made it there safely.

Lewis Hamilton has joined forces with Allianz, a partner of Mercedes AMG PETRONAS Formula One ™ Team to emphasize the pressure parents are under when driving children to school. Allianz insurance wanted to highlight how stressful the morning run even for professional drivers. So, they used top driver Lewis Hamilton to demonstrate this.

Lewis says, ” I can certainly understand how parents would find the school run stressful and a real challenge when it comes to driving safely” As a mum of five there is no denying that parents are often juggling too many balls but safety comes first and it is good to be reminded of that sometimes.
