One of Father Christmas’ reindeer, how cool is that!
M and I were very lucky to spend a fun day at London zoo a couple of weeks ago to celebrate the launch of Daddy Pig’s Puddle Jump on Windows and Windows phone. To get us going I was given a brand new Nokia Lumia phone which has a mahoosive 41 mp camera sensor. M really likes the Daddy Pig app which involves lots of muddy splashes, the graphics are amazing. I have not seen anything clearer or sharper on an app, ever. The app costs £1.49 on Windows and £1.39 on Windows Phone.
A free app available is Kids Story Builder, children can create their own personalised stories using photos and voices. These can then be exported to Skydrive to share with family and friends. I love this idea, it puts children in control of creating memories that includes not only photos of themselves or photos they’ve taken but also a record of their voice. I haven’t quite worked out how to export and play successfully yet but I have a great little montage that M has done. I really wanted to share it but unfortunately I can’t.
We talked about two other apps as well which made me very excited, ‘Read with Biff, Chip and Kipper’, interactive books to build your child’s reading skills and the Nook app, with over 3 million books, magazines, newspapers and comics available to download. Unfortunately these are not available on the Windows phone, quite disappointed about that as I think we would make great use of both.

All of the photos were taken with the Nokia Lumia 1020 phone, I cannot believe how crisp and sharp they are. Absolutely love this camera. It has two options Nokia Pro Cam and Nokia Smart Cam. I am not totally au fait with the ins and outs of either but I am really impressed with the Pro Cam option and both have various more options that sound very professional and I think from the quality of the photos you can definitely get away with leaving your camera at home and using this phone instead.

After a very busy day we had the mile walk in the dusk through Regents Park, someone was very tired.
So have a very #Appy Christmas and if you buy a Nokia Lumia phone within the next few weeks you can get a £20 apps voucher to spend in the Windows store…just thought I’d share that with you. 😉
