Across cultures the heart shape ♥ has long been recognised as the symbol for love. It was thought the soul was stored there thus being the core of our being.
Considering over the last few years I’ve had my heart ripped out of my chest, broken, trodden on and stabbed a few times and then left quivering in a heap without any CPR (no exaggeration there) I think I could be forgiven for having an aversion to anything heart shaped. Don’t worry, it may be a little frayed at the edges now but I have managed to stick the pieces of my heart back together with sellotape.
However looking around my ‘borrowed’ home I realise my home is filled with love and love hearts.
I thought I would indulge and share a few with you being that Valentine’s day is tomorrow and all that. There is something about love hearts that is aesthetically pleasing to the eye and their curves are smooth to touch. They also have so many different meanings; a declaration of love, compassion or even joy.
Wishing you all much love and joy on Valentine’s day.

I totally love hearts and do have a fair few scattered around the place 🙂 Glad your heart is being mended with sticky tape though maybe gaffer tape would have more long lasting results 😉 xxxxxxxxx
Happy valentines day, will there be heart shaped goodies baked today? x
Haha…I purposely said sellotape…because it does get unstuck quite a bit! 😉
Very pretty! And no, not a sad post. More of a truthful post, you’ve been through a lot – and are coming out of it stronger than ever! x
Sorry for the late reply…thank you Gigi for your kind words. x
*hugs* beautiful images, lots of love there
Awww thank you, sorry it wasn’t meant to be a sad post…I get carried away sometimes. Lovely hearts aren’t they. 🙂
