I have just finished reading Charlie and the Chocolate factory to ‘I’ and ‘M’, we had so much fun giggling away at the story which I have read countless times before to myself as a child and then to the older children. I never tire of it and it just doesn’t seem to date. If only there really was a real factory like that…it would be absolute bliss and I think I would buy hundreds of chocolate bars if it meant I had a chance to win a golden ticket.

To celebrate one of the nation’s best loved author, Roald Dahl, the Royal Mail have issued a presentation pack of stamps illustrated by Quentin Blake depicting the much loved stories, ‘Charlie and the Chocolate factory’, ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’, ‘James and the Giant Peach’, ‘Matilda’, ‘The Twits’ and the very scary book ‘The Witches’. As well as the six stamps, the presentation pack also includes a miniature sheet with four stamps focusing on the BFG (Big Friendly Giant), which celebrates it’s 30th anniversary this year. There are also some lovely facts about Roald Dahl and a bookmark. The stamps are utterly gorgeous and a lovely keepsake.

The Royal Mail is running a competition on it’s Facebook page to celebrate the launch of the stamps. The prize includes seven of Roald Dahl’s books, a pop up Charlie and the Chocolate factory book (how great does that sound) and a Roald Dahl presentation pack. If you want to buy some of these lovely stamps you head over HERE, or to Ebay but…don’t forget to enter my competition first.

I have a presentation pack worth £8.10 to give away to three winners, just answer the following question.

What is the name of the mad owner of the chocolate factory in Roald Dahl’s wonderful book Charlie and the Chocolate factory?

  • a) Professor Dumbledore
  • b) Willy Wonka
  • c) Captain Hook
