As you may have guessed after this week’s Silent Sunday post Little M wanted a pirate party for his fourth birthday. I like themes, and I like planning… so we have pirate party fun!
Pirate Party Fun Birthday Cake- so so easy!
But first, if you ever need to make a pirate themed birthday cake here is the easiest idea ever :
- Bake however many cupcakes you want, there are 24 in this cake. I got the pirate themed cupcake cases and flags in Lakeland.
- Cover a cake board in blue coloured buttercream icing
- Pile the cupcakes on top of each other starting with more at the bottom and ending up with less at the top
- Decorate with gold chocolate coins and pirate flags and jewellery sweets
They played the obligatory pass the parcel although I have forgotten how three and four year olds don’t have much patience so the *ahem* eighteen layers when only about six of them ended up playing it ended in some tears and frustrations…
Little M had gone on and on for months about having a pinata at his party (the product of having older brothers and sisters) and I was delighted to find a pirate ship one although little ones with minimal strength had a tough time breaking it but eventually with help from big sister ‘Little I’ and Nanna, Little M was eventually the one to break the ship open and let all the sweets fall to the floor to the childrens’ delight.

Great cake idea! I’m thinking of a pirate theme for my little girl’s 3rd bday. Not sure mine would look as good as yours though!

quite simply….wowsers!!!!!!!! the cake is WICKED!!!!! it looks amazing, all of it…..so absolutely very impressed!! in fact, my 7-yr-old son was just sat next to me (past his bedtime!) and on seeing your pictures went ‘WOW! can i have that for my next birthday-so thanks, loads for that!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have a love heart theme in september, after a dennis the menace one for my baby who will be 3 in august…did a strawberry shortcake for eldest girl’s 6th…

Oh how fun! I remember the theme parties from yester-year – we always had a pinata too; they always made me nervous with all the wild swinging of the stick. Little guys are so much fun!
