Meet Cody. A Cocker Spaniel he is now nearly five years old. Oh my he was hard work though. He was always up to mischief and constantly disappeared from the garden, wandering off probably chasing a rabbit. So many times I had to give up looking for him because it was time to collect the children from school, we’d get back and he would be waiting on the doorstep. I never knew where he went during those missing hours. Our other dog Jet liked Cody a bit too much, and poor Cody was pestered so much that we had to send Jet away for a little operation and then it was Cody, this little dog pestering Jet instead! Cody is a beautiful looking dog but those ears dragging on the floor meant that he was a little wiffy so had to visit the dog groomer frequently. He loved a pamper day.
Sadly when Little M came along, two dogs, one that wasn’t very well behaved became too much. Luckily for Cody though he went to live with a family where he trained to be a working gun dog and spends the day Lord of the Manor where I believe he rules the roost.

Ah what a lovely dog, and I am so glad that he is loving his new home. Some good friends of ours had to get rid of their dog when they had their first baby, he didn’t like children it was discovered. It was heartbreaking for everyone, but he too is loving his new home with an elderly couple and is totally in charge in their house xx
Awwww he’s too cute! So glad he’s loving his new life x
What a lovely pup! Lovely that he’s at a good home, and not a bad gig – Lord of the Manor – I could go for that sort of job title.
Haha, yes he is having great fun! 🙂
Aww what a lovely dog. x
Thank you, the children have got all nostalgic now seeing that picture. X
Awww he is lovely! He looks almost like a springer with that colouring. Glad you were able to find him a good home x
He’s a lovely colour isn’t he. 🙂
Ahhhh he’s gorgeous, I love spaniels they have such great personalities. Its sad when you have to make the decision to rehome a pet when children come along, we had to with our dog too but it was the best decision I could have made for her as she just wasn’t getting the attention she was used to and looked so sad every day. She’s very happy now, as I’m sure Cody is!
Yes we just couldn’t give him all the attention he wanted and our other dog was suffering too. He was a bit of a diva, now it doesn’t matter if he is because he is the baby in his new home. 🙂
What a happy life Cody has had and how wonderful that he’s Lord of the Manor now! Thanks so much for sharing this for #FlashbackFriday Nova! Lovely!
🙂 Karin
Thanks Karin, yes he always was a bit of a diva which would never have worked here. 🙂
What a gorgeous dog! Sounds like a proper scamp aswell! It’s good that he went to a good home and is living a gun dogs life , which is in his blood i guess being a spaniel, where he can no doubt burn off some of that cheeky scamp like energy. They have soooo much energy dont they?
Yes he has a great life now and our other dog gets his place back in the pecking order! 🙂
