A new weekly feature…this is me! Writing about all the highs and lows of the week. The bits that I dare tell anyway! 😉

The week ended and started off well after a very restful weekend. I watched ‘Legally Blonde’ on Sunday night, I can’t believe I’ve never seen it before. After a few glasses of wine I suddenly had the urge to enrol in law school and become a hot shot lawyer, I went to bed trying to work out how I would juggle five children, study and have this great career! Monday morning sober I realised this was never going to be possible and what on earth was I thinking? I hate offices, I hate desks and I hate exams! Madness. Phew, thank goodness for these sober moments.
Full of energy I did six dances of Just Dance 2 on the Wii while the toddler was at nursery and then collapsed in a heap, that’s already gone out of the window. Maybe I’ll start again tomorrow. I did pick up a leaflet about Zumba classes though, that’s progress especially when you live in the back of beyond. It may take me a while to actually get to them but the thought is now planted.
The healthy ‘diet’ is going quite well, I just keep telling myself it’s not a diet just a slight life change so that if I sneak one of the Roses or Quality Street that are still floating around after Christmas I should not feel guilty or beat myself up. That’s the easy part, it is amazing how quickly I can eat those chocolates though before I remember the healthy eating pact. I will not count them! I am also not weighing myself, I’ve measured my bits and bobs and that was an eyeopener…a thigh as big as waist in a corset is not good. I keep looking at them trying to imagine that could be someone’s waist. Oh well…I’m sure I have lost weight though, my leggings don’t feel quite so tight today. 😉 If only we could always wear leggings eh?
I had to go to a meeting about number two’s GCSE’s. Unbeknown to me it is now not compulsory to do a language at GCSE but it is compulsory to do Religious Education at his school. They also offer PE GCSE in two columns and languages in one, something is surely wrong with this? Or am I just looking for revenge? I had to do a language so everyone should suffer [insert cackle] So it looks as though he won’t be able to do media studies as he recognises that Spanish will probably fair better for him in the long term especially if the government do bring out the proposed English Baccalaureate.

After two long years, don’t we all get lazy sometimes, I met up with some very old friends. It has made me very nostalgic since, I really miss them and know that even though they don’t live down the road now they will always be there. We sat there discussing how none of us have changed or aged in the last fourteen years. I think every group of friends must do that surely? If anything it’s wishful thinking and I am determined that we will get together much more often.

We ended the week watching number one’s hockey match, unfortunately no one told us that if we stayed in the stands while they were spraying the pitch we would get wet, very wet in fact. The poor girls were soaking wet from head to toe. It’s funny looking back today but it was very cold. I was so proud of Big H, his stick skills are fantastic and it was funny that he was marking a good friend from his old school who goes to a boarding school miles away. They all look so big and are no longer boys but young men. You really do have to capture every moment because time goes by so so quickly. The long journey was worthwhile though as my son’s school won. Yay!
