How many of us are looking for the next miracle cure in wrinkle prevention? I know I have been looking for years, even though I am fairly lucky to have only a few so far. Therefore when I was asked if I would like to test out Slendertone’s face toner I leapt at the chance!

The face toner claims to retrain the muscles in your face to restore it’s youthful shape. Regular use increases muscle volume which then plumps out the face thus reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

It is recommended that you use the toner for twenty minutes, five times a week for twelve weeks to see the maximum benefit. After two weeks there should be changes to the skin tone and complexion. An increase in muscle volume after eight weeks and after twelve weeks the clinical study showed an increase in muscle volume by up to 46%, or an average increase in the zygomatic muscle ( a face muscle )of 18.6%

Does it work?

Firstly the toner comes in a lovely box with plenty of instructions. It didn’t take too many of my brain cells to work out how to set the face toner up and get using it straight away. It took me a little longer to get the toner into the correct position on my face and I often had to adjust it after I had started the programme as it was obviously not in the right place. I also had to wrestle a little with it getting it behind my head without my hair getting stuck in it.

Now, I most certainly do not look like this when it is on, hence there is no photo of me……I may scare you all. Maybe I have chubby cheeks but my flesh is quite squashed when the toner is on but hey that’s a small price to pay for looking good isn’t it?

I have to admit that when the toner is on I find the electrical impulses slightly uncomfortable but maybe I’m just ultra sensitive, and I would much rather sit with that for twenty minutes than have a needle of botox in my face or a surgical procedure.

This is most definitely not a quick fix, you have to be patient and stick with it. I’m sure my face has plumped out slightly, nothing to do with mince pies I hope, but I  haven’t  seen an improvement in my fine lines wrinkles yet! I haven’t been using the Slendertone Face Toner for twelve weeks I might add though.

Unfortunately this comes at a price – £300 to be exact, still, that is a lot less than having a face lift so looking at it like that it’s a bargain!

  1. It will be interesting to hear what you think after 12 weeks. It looks awfully uncomfortable though.

  2. I’ve just got one of these to review, I’ll be waiting until I’ve done 6 weeks until I write about it though – I still haven’t plucked up the courage to try it out yet 🙁
