I enjoy ‘me’ time in the car….it is the time when I get to think, listen to music, switch off….
*Sob* it is no longer a luxury bestowed upon me – my toddler, aged two, talks non-stop. As much as I pray that he’ll fall asleep it is now a rare event!I try to ignore but it’s not an option….the volume control on the stereo goes up and down…down and up…
Forty minutes yesterday I desperately tried to listen to Owl City in the car to be besieged by:
“Mummy, what do foxes eat?”
“Chickens, rabbits…anything they can catch really.”
“Why?”
“Because they do”
“Do people shoot foxes?”
“Yes, some do.”
“Why?”
“Because they eat their chickens and sheep.”
“Do foxes have willies?”
“Yes”
“Why?”
“Err…to do wee wee’s”
“Mummy, do you have a willy?” What is it with boys and their toys?
“Errrrrrr, no because I’m a lady”
Whhhyyyy?” ” Mummy, I’m not a baby am I?”
“Well…..you’re Mummy’s baby- you’ll always be Mummy’s baby.”
“No, I’m not a baby… I’m a big boy.”
“No, you’re a little boy….but you will grow up into a big boy and then a man.”
“Like Grandad and Big H?”
“Yes”
“When?”
“Well, it takes time…you are growing all the time, Big H is still a big boy but soon he’ll be a man.”
” Mummy….am I a big boy?”
Arghhh ” No, you are a little boy but you will be a big boy soon.”
“When?” “Mummy……what do polar bears eat?”
Imagine when all five are in the car……….. I love it really! ;0)

I prefer to take breaks during the my working day and look via some blogs to view what others are referring to. This website happened to show up in my searches and I could not help clicking on it. I am glad I did due to the fact it was a quite satisfying study.
LOL, I love the constant stream and I don’t even bother with the radio in the car anymore…

My 11 year old still does it now – it’s relentless!!!
My older ones have themselves plugged into various things so they’re not so bad….;0)
Very funny! I love the flow of their conversations and it often ends up to do with willies doesn’t it? My four year old now considers himself a backseat driver and says things like ‘why are we going this way?’ and ‘this isn’t the right way you were meant to go down that road’ and ‘you went too fast around that corner mummy’. Argh!

I love this blog Nova .. it just doesn’t update on my blog list .. so frustrating. He is so cute, yes I have had all those questions and sometimes more.. Eldest always asks the youngest to “Ask mum”
“Mum what is ‘to jerk off'” … yes now watching things like Family Guy we have all the questions, they also watch Two and a Half men.. I don’t mind as the questions now are less, explained by Charlie Sheen.

Mine is just saying all the time, What you doing Mummy? Over and over and over. Pushing the buggy when I’m right behind her, washing up, making tea. What you doing Mummy? It’s driving me insane.
