I took this photograph last spring in our garden. We have the most amazing tulips growing every year which we planted. The heads on these tulips are huge and it is lovely to fill the house up with freshly cut beautiful flowers from the garden.
This photo was one of the first I took using my new camera, a canon 400D. I would like to get a better zoom lens for it eventually so that I can take photos of for example, the moon.
This has been posted for a fantastic new feature over at Sticky Fingers showcasing photos. The theme this week is Beauty, such a subjective subject. I have spent the days since Tara first posted about this on Friday taking photos, looking at old ones ( shedding a few tears over them) and finally settling on the tulips. I think they are beautiful and I’m sure we all appreciate nature. So, head over to Sticky Fingers to check out all the other photos including Tara’s beautiful one of her daughter.
posts like this is why i have your rss feed in my radar

Oooh, snap! I have that camera too. There are some great tips on moon photography here: http://digital-photography-school.com/forum/tutorials/100918-how-shoot-moon-its-fullest-brightest.html
My favourite lens is the 50mm, also relatively affordable. Great for portraits and macro.
Beautiful tulips, a lovely shot 😀

I wanted to do flowers but there are none in my garden just yet, just a few shoots of promise, hence the chess set – odd choice I know.
Love your shot, and hoping to get just as good as all of you soon 🙂
I would love to see a close up of those chess pieces….it must have taken you ages to get it all out and move it as well.
These are beautiful tulips, they are my mums favourite flower.
Lovely photo. x
Thank you, I’m looking forward to seeing them again soon.

Simply gorgeous. I live in South Lincolnshire, near Spalding which is full of tulips in the Spring. The colour of these is really beautiful, almost coral.

Wow. Love it. Tulips are my favourite flowers to – how did you know that!
Makes me feel like spring is finally on it’s way and everything will start to bud up.
And, err hello, photos of the moon? Blimey, that sure is impressive.
Maybe will have to have a ‘sky’ theme just for you when you get your new lens . . .

The moon has been looking fantastic and extra mysterious lately….just begging me to take pictures of it. I can’t !! My camera just isn’t powerful enough sadly.
I have really loved looking at everyone’s photos. I looked at all that were listed at the time. What a great idea.
