Now no laughing at the back please, it tasted very lovely.
Those that know me know that I have a fear of cooking with pastry…..or rather I did. I don’t know why, it was some sort of strange mental block. Anything that required pastry, I just wouldn’t cook it!
Until I had lunch at a friend’s and she gave me a lovely tart. I was determined to try and replicate it!
So big C and I made this tart, we caramalised red onions, then topped with brie, cherry tomatoes and a sprinkling of parmesan cheese. It was so delicious we ate it all in one go!
Since then there’s been no stopping me, I even made a turkey and ham pie with the Christmas leftovers and also a gluten free pie for Big E.
Then on Sunday I made a treacle tart! It was okay, needs a bit of practise.
Unfortunately with pastry comes lots of calories so there will a lull for a while after all the excessive eating I’ve done over the last couple of weeks.
