Today I attended Blog Camp in London organised by Sally from Who’s the Mummy. So what did we do?
Well, we ate cake and ice cream and more cake…
Very briefly and more importantly though:
We were treated to the most wonderful and inspirational talk from Muireann Carey-Campbell from Bangs and a Bun who talked us through the various stages of building up her very successful blog. It also made me realise I need to get a thicker skin, get all those blog posts out that are screaming within and not give a damn what anyone else thinks. Hmmm…
Sian Meades from Domestic Sluttery gave good advice that building a community is essential and that commenting and responding to comments is the key to success.
An informative session led by Dafydd Prichard from Cite gave us all some interesting and helpful tips on how to make our blogs more user friendly and looking swish. I have taken note and will be making adjustments as soon as possible.
Then, we were treated to a fantastic SEO talk by Lee Smallwood, the SEO guru. Here is his site- Digital Flares. So many tips, all easy to implement and lots that I will definitely be using.
And of course I met up with old friends and made some new ones. A really great day which was fun but also extremely informative. I can’t wait to try out some new tricks.
Sorry I don’t have any pictures that show the wonderful people there or the slideshows etc but all I took were two photos of errr …cake.

See that’s why I would be a dreadful home educator, I would get easily tempted away from it. Shame you couldn’t come.
