I know some people dread it and others say it’s a waste of money, or why should one day be used as a way of showing someone how much they are loved but, Valentine’s day has been around since the 5th Century and won’t be going away anytime soon. So you either have to embrace it, after all little gestures don’t have to cost anything…or you can go all out. Luckily these Champagne Truffles will impress but won’t break the bank.
Chocolates, champagne and pink (okay, and red) are all synonymous with Valentine’s day so if you are a lover of all three what could be better than receiving a glossy tub of Charbonnel et Walker Pink Marc de Champagne Truffles?
These decadent champagne truffles are a pure chocolatey, champagne taste sensation with thick white chocolate enrobing the buttery centre. There is a very subtle hint of strawberry and the truffles are finished off with powdered sugar.
If you love champagne and chocolate then these are a match made in heaven, if you don’t like champagne then chances are you won’t enjoy these champagne truffles because they do have a strong champagne flavour. I don’t like chocolate liqueurs but I do like these.
I did attempt to get a photo of the inside of the truffle so I could show you the lovely pink contrast with the white chocolate and the milk chocolate centre, but I failed…and then I ate them all. Ooops, sorry, so you will have to take my word for it that they are some pink.
The Charbonnel et Walker Pink Marc de Champagne Truffles come in various shaped boxes including round and heart shaped and also different sizes. The box is a glossy pink with gold writing and looks very exclusive. If someone special, I won’t hold my breath mind, gave me a box of these truffles I would be extremely pleased. Add a bottle of champagne and I’ll be well away.
Thank you to House of Fraser for the Champagne Truffles which were gratefully received.
