A couple of months ago I had the privilege of meeting the lovely ladies behind Cheeky Chompers. Amy and Julie’s award winning Neckerchew is an attachable teething comforter with textures and patterns to stimulate babies and soothe sore gums. It was so interesting hearing Amy and Julie talk about the laborious process behind their unique idea (I bet you’re all thinking “Why didn’t I come up with that idea?”) But, It was only through their sheer determination and belief that they had a great product that it ever got launched. The pair even went on Dragon’s Den in March 2014 and although the Dragon’s loved the product they didn’t think the business projections were realistic. Now distributing in 19 countries Amy and Julie have well and truly proved the Dragon’s wrong.

Cheeky Chompers

Amy and Julie have both got young children and it was once they had children that they came up with the idea of the Neckerchew which launched in 2013. Cheeky Chomper’s Neckerchew is a combination of dribble bib and chewy teether. However the idea took a lot of stamina, searching for the right products and materials (it is manufactured in the UK) and ones that would withstand the rigorous safety tests, plus the different safety tests for different countries! I really admire them and it proves that if you put in the hard work you can get your dreams off the ground. Even with little ones at your feet!

Cheeky Chompers have just launched a new product, the Comfortchew, to go alongside the original Neckerchew. The Cheeky Chompers Comfortchew is a soft soothing stimulating blankie with the original attached branded Hippo teether. It also has the all important tags and can be attached to your baby, cot, car seat, buggy and dummy.

The Cheeky Comfortchew :

  • Fun prints!
  • Attached cream teether
  • Ribbon tags and elasticated link for attaching to the baby’s wrist, cot, car seat, buggy or dummy
  • Machine washable at 40 degrees
  • Cuddle fleece: 100% polyester
  • Patterned fabric: 95% cotton, 5% elastane
  • Ribbons: 100% polyester
  • BPA and phthalates free

The Comfortchew from Cheeky Chompers comes in two stylish patterns and it is reversible. It has a RRP of £17.95.

  12. We had a “round thing” with our second – it’s called an “activity station” now but this was 15 years ago and we just put her in ‘the round thing’! It was brilliant as it kept her amused and left me able to do things whilst she was busy. I hope that this one will take to something similar the same way!
