World Book Day

We were asked to take part in a super duper secret blogger book giveaway with Miles Kelly publishers to celebrate World Book Day, which is on March 6th 2014. Considering we have huge love for books we could not resist taking part.

I was ‘given’ a blogger to study and spy on secretly to find out about his or her family to enable me to choose a book from the Miles Kelly website that I thought they would particularly like. I had great fun reading about this blogger and their tweets and then spent ages looking for the perfect book for them. I really hope they liked it, I know I would have liked it so fingers crossed.

Miles Kelly is a children’s books publisher and the website is really colourful and easy to navigate, the only trouble you may have is choosing a book because they are many many great looking ones from early reading books to fiction collections to books about animals and nature,  space and so much more. I was pleasantly surprised at the prices of the books.

British Wildlife Handbook

I was very excited to receive our surprise book too, a British Wildlife Handbook which is perfect as we live in the country and are surrounded by wildlife. Now we can find out more about these creatures, and as well as the facts the book has space for us to write notes about what we see. The book has a great flexible wipe clean cover which means it’s not too heavy to carry around but is sturdier than a paperback.

British Wildlife HandbookI can remember having something very similar when I was a child and I loved ticking off everything I saw and making a note of where I saw it, I love that it reminds us to get back to basics and take a look at our environment which sometimes gets forgotten in this modern age of technology.

So, thank you to my secret book giver for choosing this for us and thanks to Miles Kelly for organising it and inviting us to be a part of it.
