We’ve just come back from holiday, our first in nearly six years and most definitely the first holiday that M will remember. He had a fantastic time and loved every minute of it. It was so lovely to see him making the most of every ray of sunshine, every grain of sand and the swimming pools. Oh and ice cream. Apparently he told my friend who we went with that he wanted to have fourteen ice creams whilst we were there, one for every day. I think however he managed to wangle an ice cream out of each of us nearly everyday so it may have actually been a bit more than fourteen. Ooops. Cheeky monkey!
So, I think I can state that M is a bit of an ice cream connoisseur, he knows his stuff and therefore was more than a willing participant when we were invited to try out Beechdean’s new Dora the Explorer and Spongebob Squarepants themed ice cream and lollies.
A little about the ice creams;
- Made with fresh milk
- A 5% fat ice cream – 95% fat free
- Free from artificial additives, colourings and preservatives
- Vegetarian and GLUTEN FREE (Yay)
- Nut free policies
They cost £1 a tub or £1 per lolly and the ice cream comes in Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry, and the lollies in Orange and Strawberry flavours.
The verdict? Well I have never seen so many children eating ice cream after ice cream as I did here. Mine particularly liked the vanilla and chocolate flavoured ice cream and I enjoyed the orange Sponge Bob ice lolly very much, they are something I would definitely buy because I like the little tubs ( keeps the portion size realistic) and the fact that they are gluten free is a huge bonus too.
We were also lucky enough to see The Smurfs 2 at this event and we really enjoyed it, I thought it was much better than the first film. So as we have terrible weather forecast for the next couple of days, this may be a film you want to take the children to see.
