Seascape products

I am always on the look out for new skincare products nowadays, what is it about getting old older? I have noticed that my make up bag is expanding rather rapidly as I need more cover up and my bathroom shelves are heaving under the weight of all my lotions and potions in the hope that they’ll delay the signs of aging.

So, I was rather happy to be sent some Seascape Island Apothecary products to try out on myself.

Seascape Island Apothecary has strong views about using sustainable and local products produced on the island of Jersey where the family business Jersey Lavender farm was established thirty years ago. “Each range features infusions of unique, hand blended, natural essential oils for fragrance offering many therapeutic benefits helping to balance personal care and wellbeing”  Beeswax features in all the products and honey in some of the products and the bees nest in wildflower meadows in Jersey. All of the products are paraben, silicone, petrolium and SLS free, they are suitable for vegetarians and do not contain artificial colours or synthetic fragrances. The bottles and packaging are recyclable.

There are six ranges for; Hands, Bath and Shower, Skincare, Maternity, Men, Les Petits plus a collection of gift box sets.

In the maternity range I tried Soothe Body Wash which contains the essential oils Neroli, Lavender and Ylang Ylang plus Jersey honey to help lock in moisture and help the skin maintain it’s elasticity. The fragrance is more subtle than other products I have tried, you can smell each essential oil but blended together they make a unique fragrance that is fresh and uplifting but not overwhelming. The body wash is thick, lathers really well and leaves my skin feeling very soft and moisturised. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling stripped of moisture.

Les Petits Body Lotion is from the range of products especially formulated with the young delicate and sensitive skin of children and babies in mind. This has an extremely delicate fragrance using lavender and camomile (both will help babies sleep) essential oils plus Shea Butter and Olive Oil to moisturise. It is a very light lotion perfect for young skin, for me it is not quite moisturising enough for my very dry skin but has been good to use most days with the use of something a bit thicker in between. What is good though is that it sinks in and dries very quickly which is a bonus if you need to get dressed in a hurry.

Refresh Hand and Nail Cream has a lovely geranium fragrance with undertones of lavender although also contains Lemongrass essential oils. The cream feels quite wet at first and you you don’t think it’s ever going to sink into the skin but if you give your hands a nice massage and rub it suddenly sinks in leaving lovely moisturised hands with a glistening sheen ( I have a bit of a meltdown if I think my hands look old so love it if a hand cream can make them look young again) My hands are left feeling soft and smooth until I wash them. This is a perfect cream for day use, and it’s now in the car ready to use whenever I need it. I need something richer for night time, again a sign of my age!

Starting at £10 for the cheapest item these are quite luxurious products but, they are made ethically from natural products so they are not going to be bought at budget prices. Also I have found that you don’t need quite so much of the product as you would with something cheaper. All of the ranges would make lovely gifts and I would very happy to be given any of the products as a present.

I award these 4/5 cupcakes
