Nokia Lumia 610- a review

I was really pleased to be sent a Windows phone Nokia Lumia 610 a while ago and I was very keen to try it out considering I was totally addicted to my current phone.

With a 5 megapixel camera, access to more than 100,000 apps, Nokia maps, radio and also the ability to act as a mobile wifi hotspot for other gadgets, plus an MP3 player, it has everything you could possibly want from a phone. It also has a whopping 720 hours standby time.

The phone was fairly easy to set up, it came with a quick start menu so was up and running within minutes. The only hurdle I came across in initial set up was that a windows live ID is needed to download apps, luckily I did already have one so that was sorted out fairly quickly too.

The home screen already has shortcut options to mail, Facebook, ‘People Hub’ which connects you to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and groups so that all statuses, chat etc come through in one place without having to go to individual apps. I did find it a little difficult to work out how to write my own status in this though.

The phone is light to carry and feels good to hold. I like the huge choice of apps, there are some great games for children and adults but I was especially pleased to see that I could have apps for eBay, Netflix, Trip Advisor, a Tube map and many more. The Internet Explorer browser is really fast for looking things up. I also like the built in calculator, I love the way it automatically updates my calendar without me doing anything…that’s one job less to think about.

In conclusion, this is a really smart phone, it takes great photos, has helpful apps and fun ones too, isn’t bulky, the charge lasts well and I would highly recommend it.

100,000 apps that’s just incredible isn’t it, how long would it take to try them all!
