Holidays
Having a wonderful time,
Oh, look at that white soft sand,
Licking a lolly all day long,
It’s never a boring time out,
Dozing off when the sun shines,
Amazing surfers on the reef
Yellow sunbeds put up
Sunshine is over me!

What a lovely view of summer and holidays! For me the best thing about summer is the school holidays and not being tied down to so many regimented commitments; school, dance lessons, drama, matches..and so on. I love being having a free day that if we choose to go out we can but if we don’t feel like it we can just laze about at home. My childhood memories of summer appear to contain a lot more sunny days than we seem to have now but also; swimming in rivers, getting sunburnt, summer childhood romances, picnics, mazes, last minute trips to the seaside and ice cream!
The theme for this Brit Mums carnival is Summer and kicking it off is Dorky Mum reminiscing about her holidays from all over the world.
Maggy at Red Ted Art inspires us to think about summer colours and use them to make pictures with tissue paper and black silhouettes.
At The Good Life Bloggers Ali tells us why everyone has gone bunting crazy and how to make it.
Jax at Making it all up tells us why she is especially grateful this Summer.
Not Supermum shares photos of her first summer in her gorgeous garden.
Unfortunately the summer holidays don’t last forever but Marianne at Mari’s World has an extensive list (100) of things that she would, or wouldn’t, like to do before her beautiful girls start school
Over at Life at the Zoo Maggy gives us some Olympic inspired games to do with the children.
Tasha at Wham Bam shows us how we can all still have that holiday feeling staying at home!
Attracting butterflies and making perfume is the lovely post from Becky at Baby Budgeting, both activities that don’t cost anything and my children would love!
I can totally relate to Just a Normal Mummy‘s post… Fun in the sun with a baby…really? It used to seem more effort than it was worth when my blue skinned children wanted to go out in the sun if the temperature was over 18•C! Wally Mummy, I promise you it gets better, and sooner than you think.
Finally Liz at The Mum Blog makes us all hungry and in need of a drink when she shows us Tastes of summer.
