I particularly like anything that encourages children to write and what better excuse than the chance to win a holiday for the whole family to an Al Fresco holiday park just by writing about their holiday.
Al Fresco holidays are family camping holidays in Europe but in the comfort of luxury mobile homes. Equipped with everything you could possibly need the mobile homes really look like homes from home and some of them can accommodate up to eight 
people. There are six countries to choose from including Spain, France, Italy, Croatia, Austria and the Netherlands and 54 parks across Europe. The park facilities vary but some offer amazing on site water parks, Kids clubs, swimming pools, evening entertainment, sports and activities including bicycle hire, and even gyms and spas. It sounds as though all the family are catered for whatever their interests and there is still some pampering to be had. Having had a look online the locations of the parks are scenic with plenty to keep everyone as busy or as relaxed as they choose. There are mountains and spectacular views in Austria, beaches in Spain, culture in the Netherlands…the list goes on.
To enter the Al Fresco Young travel writer competition children are asked to write up to 300 words about their holiday including where they went, what they did, why it was so good and perhaps include pictures with it. There are two categories – aged 10 years and under, and 11 years and over. This is a good way to get children writing, improving their spelling and grammer, and get creative juices flowing.
The prize for the winning entry is a holiday to an Al Fresco holiday park of your choice for seven nights to be taken in 2012 and travel for a family of four up to a maximum value of £500. Closing date for the competition is 5pm on 1st March 2012 which isn’t long so get the children going…it’s a fab prize and my children are already working on their entries. For someone that has never ‘done’ camping before the Spas swayed it for me!
