I have never done sand art before, mainly because I imagined a whole load of mess and sand scattered for ever more around the house. It turns out that I was very wrong.
A few weeks ago we were sent some Kids Bee Happy Sand art packs to try out. Each pack contains 2 large cards, 20 pens of sand, 2 plastic sleeves and 2 hanging tabs. There are two designs in each pack and two different packs. One contains pictures to decorate of a racing car and robot and the other pack has pictures of a rabbit scene and house and tree. They retail at £8.99 per pack from Kids Bee Happy.
Surprisingly there is little mess with this sand art because each section is peeled off leaving a sticky area which is then covered with sand making it very easy with no glue etc involved. Once the area is covered with sand and the excess removed the sand sticks hard and doesn’t come off.
Recommended for children between 3 years and 12 years old magic sand painting is a great way to keep little ones amused for hours. I did find that M, aged 4, needed help with peeling the sections off though which was a little fiddly so it’s not a totally independent activity for younger children. I did however find myself getting carried away and could imagine sitting down and doing this myself. I did notice the older children kept having a go as they were passing too, it’s a lot of fun.
I was amazed at how much sand is supplied with each pack, there is no worry about running out or telling the children to be careful how much they use.
I think Kids Bee Happy Sand Art packs are great value, make great birthday presents, party activities or craft activities to do on dreaded rainy days and I would highly recommend them.

We did this last week and had so much fun. I was pleasantly surprised by how little mess there was. x
