I am so excited to be telling you about Caudalie’s newly launched Premier Cru ‘The Eye Cream’. Just three days of use and I cannot stop looking at my eyes in the mirror. When I was told that the effects can be seen 30 seconds, yes that is seconds, after application they weren’t lying.

The launch took place on the London eye where we were treated to breakfast and and a very informative talk , as much as I was very tempted to spend the whole ‘flight’ looking out at the magnificent views I was also very keen to find out as much as I could about this new much hailed eye cream. I have noticed in the last six months how the area around my eyes has become much thinner and more delicate and I am loathe to use too much concealer under my eyes but the dark circles and in very recent times puffiness has necessitated it.

The Claims

The formula aims to instantly correct and beautify. It brightens the delicate eye area to leave younger looking eyes, it eliminates dark spots and the visible signs of ageing such as wrinkles, dehydration, loss of elasticity, dark circles and puffiness are all targeted by the active anti-ageing ingredients. Apparently the secret behind this anti ageing is down to the ‘Caudalie Trilogy’ or it’s three patents; Grapevine Resveratrol, Viniferine from Vine sap and Grape seed Polyphenols.

Briefly:

  • Grapevine Resveratrol is the star behind the anti wrinkle and firming properties
  • The brightening and anti dark spot is thanks to Viniferine from Vine sap and corrects and prevents dark spots caused by the sun, ageing and pregnancy
  • Grape-seed Polyphenols block free radicals and are the most powerful antioxidents in the plant kingdom.

note some of these facts and research I have taken from their literature and others can be seen on the Caudalie website

The Packaging

As one would expect of a product at this end of the beauty market the cream comes in a lovely gold box which is quite big for the 15 ml bottle but there isn’t too much wastage. The gold and silver bottle with a pump dispenser feels and looks expensive. The pump action dispenses the the correct amount of cream needed to moisturise both eyes which is a bonus with a product of this price eliminating the chance of wasting any of the precious cream.

The Results

Now I cannot vouch at all for the long term effects of the cream because I have only just started using it but I am so impressed that I couldn’t wait to tell you how much I already love it. Within 30 seconds of applying the cream my eyes were instantly brightened and, in my opinion, younger looking. This I believe is down to the highlighting pearlised particles. I’m not sure I can get away with not wearing concealer at the moment but I am hoping that over the next few weeks the need will lessen as the cream performs, I hope, it’s magic. I will let you know. The cream is thick and yet absorbs into the skin quickly leaving the area feeling soft and moisturised. It can also be used around the lips.

Conclusion

I have to admit I am a sucker for a good beauty product and have been lucky to use some very good ones in the past. Already a Caudalie fan I can see this cream may become a favourite but as ever it comes at a price and isn’t for everyone. Sadly it costs a whopping £49 and at the moment is only available in the UK at Space NK and Selfridges.

On initial reaction and use I will award Caudalie Premier Cru Eye Cream a huge 4 out of 5 cupcakes, one knocked off for the price meaning that for most people using it can only be dreamed about.

I was given a fab goody bag of products plus had a trip on the London Eye but this hasn’t influenced my post in any way. I would like to thank Maria at Mummy’s Busy World for passing this opportunity on to me.

  1. Oooo sounds like a lovely day! Nothing like a new beauty product eh? And this sounds like a good one. Shame about the price tag, but if it works…

  2. You’ll have to keep us informed of how it works in the long run, and how long the bottle lasts. I could really do with some decent cream at the minute. I could pack for our hols in the bags under my eyes today 🙁

  3. Oh my goodness I need stuff like this too. Whether my skin would stand it without flaring up is another matter. At that price it had better not!
