Christmas Style Tips-2

December 16, 2010 · 6 comments

A while ago now in my Christmas Style Tips 1 post I promised to bring you some more tips, and specifically table decorations. Then life became extremely busy……but at last I have managed to get around to doing my table decorations for Christmas.

Every year I like to do something different for the Christmas table. Sometimes I might see an idea in a magazine, other times I see a Christmas display that I like in a shop so I try and recreate it at home.

This year I dusted off my  ‘fish bowls’ that I have used for years with various table displays. I bought some fake silver leaves and put them on the bottom of the bowls. I then filled them with pine cones from the garden that we ‘glittered’, silver baubles, and pot pourri. It’s as simple as that! Yet also so effective. I think you must remember that you don’t want something that takes up too much room because I like to have lots of candles and tealights on the table but Christmas dinner always means lots of dishes so you need space for all that food!

Once again I share with you a Notcutts Style Guide video. This one is Christmas Dining room Styling by Pippa Jameson

Gorgeous …. but I don’t promise to be trying that at home, it will be a major achievement if I don’t burn the turkey!

Very pretty! I think you need to come and “Christmas-fy” my house. It is sorely lacking this year as I just can’t be bothered.
